All women have dreamt of their perfect fairy-tale wedding since childhood whether it be a big glamorous, red carpet event or a rustic, more laid back day with homemade jam jar flower arrangements and fairy lights lighting up a walkway.
If you have a limited budget here are some affordable and rustic wedding ideas that we love and think may help when planning your perfect wedding;
Jam jars have a great effect if you’re going for the ideal countryside wedding. All you need is an empty jam jar, a piece of ribbon or string and a bunch of cow parsley. It will make a simple yet really pretty and effective rustic look. Why not use a variety of different sized jars for candles and small tea lights which can also make great centrepieces.
Table Arrangements and Decorations
Table arrangements don’t have to be expensive. There are many ways to create cheap but stylish name tags, for example, a piece of card and a small end of a log is sometimes all you need. A single piece of Lavender or wheat can also be very effective to pop in front of each place setting. Another popular idea is a bunch of herbs such as Rosemary tied together with some ribbon or string, it looks really effective and also smells great.
Hanging decorations are fashionable, popular and very easy to make if you’re on a tight budget. You can hang them anywhere in a marquee or on a pathway leading up to a venue. You could even add tea lights or fairy lights to create more of an effect.
Mr and Mrs Signs and Bunting’s can easily be made with a bit of rustic wood, ribbons and a piece of chalk. Bunting is also an affordable way of making signs and decorations. Hessian can be sourced really cheaply and is easy to paint on to create any wording or pictures.
Everyone loves a photo booth at a wedding. After the reception this is a great way to keep guests entertained for the rest of the night, it never gets boring especially if there’s a box of fancy dress items nearby. A hired photo booth, however, can be quite pricey and is not always something that can fit within your budget. There are a few ways to create your own photo booth area such as a large empty rustic looking photo frame either hanging or on a stand or a Polaroid-style frame for people to hold.
Rustic & Affordable Gifts and Favours
As your guests have shared your very special day with you, it’s a really nice idea to give them a little treat as they leave. They don’t have to be big or expensive and there are many affordable ways of saying Thank you. A jar of homemade jam always goes down nicely or some little treats like these below.
