Make sure you are given a full break down of all the costs.
You’ve contacted various marquee companies and received a range of quotations. You’ll see straight away that some companies will give you a basic breakdown of the equipment on your quotation with one final price. Others will provide a full itemised breakdown of costs showing you exactly where your money will be going. Having the quotation broken down in this way means that you can pick and choose items to create your perfect wedding and stick to your budget.
Have you been offered a ‘No Obligations’ site visit?
Once you’ve managed to narrow your choice down and had some further contact with one of your preferred suppliers, it’s worth checking that they are happy to do a site visit at your wedding location. Every wedding is totally unique to the couple and the location. The company should want to check your venue to make sure that it is suitable and safe to install a marquee. A good way to check the standard and safety of your potential marquee company is to make sure they are MUTA accredited. Make sure that they are also enthusiastic about hearing your ideas and are happy to offer their advice.
Are the marquees good quality and clean?
Many companies will only clean their marquees and equipment at the end of the summer wedding season. This means that if you’re wedding is towards the end of the season, you’ll likely be setting yourself up for a marquee that looks aged and worn. Check that the company pride themselves on the high calibre and constant maintenance of their marquees and equipment and ensure that the carpet (if that’s your flooring choice) will be brand new for your wedding!
Do the company kit out the entire interior or just provide the basic marquee?
Marquee companies range in what they are available to offer. Some will provide you with the structure and perhaps some basic lighting and furniture whilst others will have a range of equipment including coloured and decorative linings, full table and chair/ bench options, indoor and outdoor lighting, heating, outdoor furniture and décor equipment. Not only does this mean that the marquee firm is able to provide different options to suit your theme or style, but they will also oversee all aspects of the marquee and interior meaning you won’t need to worry about a thing! Make sure the company is happy to liaise with your florist, band/DJ and venue as well to really make life easy for you! Top tip: Some companies do not own their own interior equipment meaning that it will be subcontracted out to another company. This results in you paying a premium price so make sure that your preferred marquee firm provides their own equipment!
