A themed party has been a very popular choice this year so far. We don’t just do weddings and often get requests for birthdays, celebrations and events. We have provided structures and items for a variety of different themed parties all with completely different briefs.
A 1920’s Great Gatsby inspired party
For this particular themed party, we were approached by Blue Fizz Events, a Devon based event management, and planning company. The brief was a Gatsby Style 1920’s inspiration for a birthday celebration. A colour palette of gold, silver, black, white & cream was the theme.
We had a bespoke 1920’s design stencil made for our round LED light up bar that was positioned around a pole in our traditional canvas pole marquee. To really capture the sparkle and elegance our lighting technicians and crew installed a variety of different effect lighting. Mirror balls and vintage crystal chandeliers in different sizes were used above the bar whilst twinkling pea lights were used throughout the rest of the roof and over the black & white checkered dance floor.
As well as Abbas there were a variety of other suppliers that helped to create the perfect party.
A ski chalet-themed party
For this particular party, we teamed up with Sara Kirkby, a professional local Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire event designer & stylist. The client wanted to recreate the look and feel of an après-ski chalet for their themed party. A frame marquee structure was built over an existing patio area and attached to the client’s house. Hessian linings were requested so our crew designed and made them from scratch. Festoon lighting was used throughout with clusters of vintage braided cable and retroelement bulbs to add effect.
Nordic fire pits were used to recreate the feel of a log fire, chill out furniture and cosy sheep skins were dotted around to keep guests comfy. Our oak barrels were also used to really capture the feel of a rustic alpine ski lodge bar.
A Chinese themed party
The brief for this particular party was Chinese market with a touch of Shanghai for a 21st birthday. The client wanted to recreate the look of a swanky Chinese bar mixed with the streets of Shanghai. Pinks, Reds and Golds were used to create an amazing warming colour scheme. We used paper umbrellas and a variety of different hanging lanterns throughout the whole of the roof space to really capture the magical look of Shanghai at night.
A mixture of deep red and cream carpet was used throughout the flooring and our round wooden bar was pride of place in the separate bar & chill out area. Large light up cherry blossom trees were used to complement the pinks from the ceiling.
The client trusted us completely with our advice and ideas and even asked us to design the invitations based on the brief. It took the crew over 2 days to build and install everything to perfection.
