As with any wedding or event, there are so many themes and accessories to suit what you would like. One of our favourites is a festival themed wedding so here are some of our ideas to create the feel of being at a festival on your big day.
A Festival Themed Wedding
Create the feel of a big dance tent with a canvas pole marquee or kit out some tipis with multi-effect lighting, lasers and smoke machines. Combine the two together to really set the scene of a mini-festival including bar areas, stages and a dance floor.
Rustic bare wood feasting tables are perfect and can be used inside and out. Dot benches around and have cosy fire pits for your guests to chill out next to.
Invitations & Table Plans
Wedding stationery is a great way to tie in with your festival theme. Create invitations in the styles of a poster with the “Bride and Groom” as the headliners or make them look like a ticket.
Another fun idea for table names is different bands, stages and types of festivals.
Why not have personalised wristbands made for your guests, they could also double up as a favour to go with each place setting and your guests get to keep them to remind them of your day.
Festival themed invitations, table plan and personalised wristbands.
Create your own glamping site with bell tents, caravans or yurts. Why not let your guests even bring their own tent to really feel like they are at a festival.
Really create the festival look with lots of different decorations and accessories. Why not use colourful bunting and festival flags. Giant Letters are a great way to make your wedding a bit more unique, have your initials or go the whole way with full names or keep it simple with the word LOVE. They create a perfect photo opportunity and your guests will really feel like they are at a festival.
Exterior festoon lighting is a brilliant way to light up the area at night, multi-effect lights under trees and along fences can also look really effective.
There are many options for bars for a festival themed wedding. They can be inside or outside and come in all shapes and sizes. Large round wooden bars work particularly well around a pole in a large traditional marquee or why not have a whole Tipi to create a completely separate bar area.
With a festival themed wedding, the entertainment options are endless and you can have as much or as little as you’d like.
Have photo booths, circus performers, face painting and even glitter stations for your guests to enjoy. Why not end your night with a bang and put on a spectacular fireworks display.
If you want more than one band why not go for a couple of different local bands as well as a bigger more expensive one. This will help keep your costs down but will still create the feel of a festival with multiple groups. An alternative is to book a band that will play a variety of different music and will do a few sets throughout the evening.
A band that will do just that are ‘The Festival Sons‘, they will even provide an acoustic set and a DJ mix.
If you have a sound curfew, a silent disco is the perfect option and is becoming a really popular event at festivals.
Street food is a great option for a festival theme, vans and pop-up stations for people to choose from. Paellas, Indian, Pizza’s and Barbecued food is particularly a popular choice.
Cocktail Cars, Prosecco Bars and a Pimm’s Bus would also be a hit with your wedding guests.
Bride and Bridesmaid Hair
Simple loose hairstyles with plaits and curls are perfect for a festival themed wedding. Add flowers and floral headbands for an extra special look.
